Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) describes
Industrial Design as the professional service of creating and developing concepts and specifications that optimize the function, value and appearance of products and systems for the mutual benefit of both user and manufacturer.
IDSA is a national organization, dedicated to communicating the value of industrial design to society, business and government. IDSA provides leadership to and promotes dialog between practice and education. As a professional association, it serves its diverse membership by recognizing excellence, promoting the exchange of information and fostering innovation.
The Industrial Design Program at Georgia Tech is home to over 80 student members of IDSA who engage in monthly meetings, activities and events. The students attend the yearly regional IDSA conference where the student merit awards are presented. To join the student IDSA at Georgia tech group, contact the ID Program office at 404.894.4874 and you will be put in touch with an IDSA at Georgia Tech student representative.
